I started going there this year after experiencing a few years of steadily increasing rotator cuff pain in both shoulders, from years of weight-lifting, heavy bag boxing, some jiu-jitsu and just plain aging. After several months of therapy with Marina Chen, DPT, I was able to restore most range of motion to my shoulders and be largely pain free. Keep in mind, you must diligently perform all exercises not just in the office but at home or in a gym to rehabilitate yourself. The job of the physical therapist is to educate you, your job is work hard towards your own rehabilitation. I want to thank Ms. Chen for her wide breadth of knowledge regarding sports injuries. She is a former gymnast who now does rock climbing among other fitness type activities, so she can easily relate to athletes, current and former, needing physical therapy. Ms. Chen also treated me for a strained back from improper deadlifting form. She showed me different stretches to keep the back pliable. I do recommend Kaizen, if you get an appointment. Also, remember, you don’t have to get a consultation through your PCP or primary care physician to start physical therapy here.
